I design, implement and support SPC systems on InfinityQS Enact and ProFicient. Since 2019 I have run the live quality system of a beverage multinational — 15+ production sites across Europe — first inside a certified InfinityQS partner, today as a fully independent consultant. Remote worldwide, on-site where needed.
LM Solutions is the independent consultancy of Luca Magosso, an SPC specialist who designs, implements and supports statistical process control systems on InfinityQS Enact and ProFicient for manufacturing companies.
Since 2019 I have developed and managed the statistical quality control system of a multinational in the beverage industry — three business units and over 15 production sites across the UK, Northern Europe, Spain and France. I led the build of the solution from its earliest stages, inside a certified InfinityQS partner operating across Europe, and today I run it single-handedly as an independent consultant serving the same client directly.
I follow it through every stage: from initial analysis to go-live, and on to maintenance and continuous evolution — designing new solutions on Enact, integration with plant systems (SCADA, ERP, PLC), level 1 and 2 support, and training line teams. I work remotely, including with clients in distant time zones, and on-site where needed.
My background is in IT: programming (C#, Python, SQL), system integration and data historian management (AVEVA PI System, formerly OSIsoft PI). I have worked both on the factory floor and in the office, which gives me a broader perspective: I understand the line and I understand the systems that run it. I'm a certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and SAP S/4HANA (SAP Cloud Platform Academy), and I work in four languages.
My depth is in food & beverage — but a control chart doesn't know what it's measuring. Fill weight or torque, Brix or coating thickness: the statistics, the integration patterns and the discipline are the same in any serial production.
On production SPC systems since 2019. Experience can't be improvised.
From a brand-new plant, built from the ground up, to daily support. With Enact (cloud) and ProFicient (on-premise), quality control moves from paper to real time: centralised data collection, live control charts, multi-site visibility and easier audits.
A control chart stops updating. An integration silently breaks. Operators stop trusting the data. I find the problem and fix it — usually within the day — and when the root cause is a software bug, I isolate it and report it to the vendor so it gets corrected. Level 1 and 2 support, remote and on-site, within your ticketing workflow.
Hands-on training for line operators and quality teams: reading control charts (X̄-R, p-chart), interpreting Cpk and Ppk indices, managing out-of-control situations, and proper daily use of Enact and ProFicient. The goal is autonomy: a team that handles the common cases without opening a ticket.
Everything starts from studying the client's situation: production process, quality requirements, existing systems. From there I design and implement the solution on Enact or ProFicient — collection configuration, control charts and process specifications — and integrate it with the other plant systems: SCADA, ERP, PLC. I also handle multi-plant deployment.
Quality control is not an end-of-shift report: it's real-time data, on every line.
Whether it's an urgent issue or a new project, the approach is always the same: understand first, act second. Rigorous where it counts — the statistics, the compliance — and flexible where it matters: the solution adapts to your line, your systems, your constraints.
I understand the context: type and mode of production, critical parameters — fill weight, Brix, CO₂, pH, pasteurisation temperature, or whatever your process lives by — systems already in place, what works and what doesn't.
If an InfinityQS system is already in place, I analyse its configuration, verify data integration and process flows, and identify the root cause of issues. If starting from scratch, I assess requirements and constraints to set the solution on solid foundations.
I fix the issue or implement the requested change. I work directly in the system, with real line data, coordinating with the plant team.
I make sure everything works in production, with real data. I don't consider a job done until it runs stably — and, for training, until the team can independently handle the most common situations.
I stay available. An SPC system is not a project with an end — it's a living infrastructure that evolves with the production process.
I work with the platforms already in your plant. I know them because I use them every day.
Every production process has a voice. SPC makes it readable.
Public LinkedIn recommendations from the client teams, colleagues and managers I've worked with — most of them on the multi-site beverage project described above.
Luca was solely responsible for maintenance and management of the Enact quality system. His work single handedly ensured that legal quality requirements were being met across multiple countries. No matter what I needed the system to provide, Luca would problem solve and be creative to come up with solutions. As a result of him, quality control within our site and the business as a whole has significantly improved.
Luca was a fantastic help to us when launching our Quality software. His response time to issues was really quick and he took time to understand the issue and provide a solution. He is friendly and supportive and was a critical part of the success of the system.
Luca is very technically capable, organised and efficient in delivering effective solutions for customer challenges and queries. He is also strong at troubleshooting and data manipulation.
I found him a highly skilled and dedicated professional. He has been a great resource to my company and did an incredible job on all projects, making timely deliveries and helping me improve our digital systems.
Having worked with and mentored Luca in the implementation of quality management systems on food and beverage production floors, it is my pleasure to highly recommend Luca. Luca, apart from being an extremely quick learner, is both a highly technical, analytical and always looking to expand his overall business knowledge. Apart from these professional traits, his personal work ethic is also above reproach. He is the full package and will be the ideal addition to any company that is lucky enough to have him. I would work with him again given half a chance.
Since the very beginning Luca showed high capability of organizing and leading projects, even when facing new situations. His strong technical basis joined with his communication skills allow him to quickly become a key player in any project.
Luca is a very reliable employee and has a very extensive and detailed knowledge in the IT field. He shows great motivation and commitment at all times and continuously trains himself in all relevant areas. In addition to his programming skills, he has extensive experience in the implementation of Historian systems (OSIsoft PI) and SPC topics.
Luca is a great professional and highly experienced consultant. We have worked together for several years of project deployments, implementations and also supporting the day-to-day business. Luca has always been acting in a good manner with clients and customers, working proactively to help and support the customers in the best way.
I've had the pleasure to work with Luca on a very large SaaS roll-out. Luca is a very hard working individual, and he is able to quickly learn technically challenging concepts in different fields (software configuration, manufacturing requirements, statistical process control, etc...), and implement them for clients with a smile! He did a fantastic job managing client expectations while listening to their concerns.
Luca is always available and reliable. He is fun to work with and has a great mindset which helps solving problems and that is always leading to continuous improvement and efficiency. His experience with SPC and his always improving communication skills makes him a big asset. His approach is often innovative and brings a fresh view to new and even old issues.

Short answers to the questions I hear most often — SPC, Cpk and Ppk, limits, platforms.
No. I am fully independent — no commercial ties, no reseller agreements, no commissions. I built my expertise working for years inside a certified InfinityQS partner, and today I work directly for manufacturing clients. That independence matters: my only interest is that your SPC system works, not that you buy licences.
SPC monitors the production process with control charts (X̄-R, p-charts) to tell common-cause variation from special causes — and to act before scrap is produced. With platforms like InfinityQS, monitoring moves from paper to real time: centralised data, automatic alerts, multi-site visibility.
Cpk measures the potential capability of the process using within-subgroup variation (short term); Ppk measures actual performance using total variation (long term). A Ppk far below Cpk points to instability between subgroups: shifts, batches or adjustments introducing variation. It's the first signal I look at in an SPC diagnosis.
Control limits (UCL/LCL) are the voice of the process: statistics sets them at ±3σ around the mean, and they tell you whether the process is stable. Specification limits (USL/LSL) are the voice of the customer: the contract or the standard sets them, and they tell you whether the part conforms. A process can drift out of control while staying within spec — and that's where SPC pays off: it catches the drift before it becomes scrap. It's exactly what the chart at the top of this page shows.
Enact is the cloud SPC platform (SaaS): ideal for multi-site visibility and fast deployments. ProFicient is on-premise: the right fit under infrastructure or validation constraints. The choice depends on IT, compliance and roadmap; I work with both every day and can assess it on your specific case.
Yes — if it produces in series: the cost of an undetected out-of-spec — scrap, rework, recall — doesn't depend on company size. With cloud platforms like Enact the entry barrier has dropped sharply: you can start with one line and the two or three critical parameters, and grow from there.
QESH covers Quality, Environment, Safety and Health. SPC gives the Quality pillar the objective evidence audits require: real-time data, traceability, documented specification limits. A well-configured SPC system makes audits easier, not more stressful.
Is your SPC system not performing as it should? Are you evaluating InfinityQS for your production? Do you need someone to train your team on control charts?
Write to me. I reply personally — and a first conversation costs nothing and commits you to nothing.
